An oak arts and crafts style reclining chair with an interesting history. This chair spent its entire life in the infirmary of Christs hospital school. It was bought new when the school moved location from London to West Sussex in 1902. When we purchased the chair from the school its long service had left it with a fair share of battle scars. However we thought it deserved a second life. The chair has been completely refurbished, reglued and refinished retaining the twists and warping the frame had incurred but leaving it completely solid and functional. The back support has three reclining positions held by a movable dowel. Complete upholstery renewal including new feather cushions and recovered in a Liberty linen. Seat height 54cm
